Halifax town 5k

What a hot day for a 5k race, I arrived without any idea what kind of course would be that race but I had the feeling that I knew it isn't going to be flat, so mentally prepared to run hard and off course do the best for the team ( Airedele Athletic), is funny because we were only three running for AA and we all must run good if we want to fight for the team prize.
A 2 lap course was a good idea and well organized, first km was a bit fast for us 3:09 but as it was down the road I didn't mind, when we aprroached the second and third km was when the race really started, so I was passed the second halifax harriers and I wanted to catch up the next one, wasn't far away and i started to chasing him up, but he was stronger than me and by the last km up the hill I spend all trying to get closer and not letting anyone pass me, at the end I finished 5th with a happy time of 17:30, not a pb but with that type of undulated race will help me to keep psychologically stronger and make me better runner.
The big disappointment came when they did the presentation, is make me laugh because they made a big mistake (intentional) to make up the prize for the Halifax runners..we had 5th,6th and 8th place, only one of them in front of me, we tried to discuss the issue with the organiser but he refused to change, obviously the did the change but three days later, now I ask myself how can some people feel proud of cheating, those ones should be banned from sports forever...

Thursday a Tough Day

A day of cruise intervals came along during the morning, being stiff from the Tuesday speed work and more o less recover after Wednesday recovery run (45 min) I went to canal road to do my 3x1000 2 min rec, 3x400 400 rec and 1x1600 ....even if the pace was slow for a single kilometer my legs felt like going a full speed, a bit heavy but surprisingly i did them between 3:30 and 3:34 and that recovery time seems to be only 30 seconds but well enough my confidence has been increasing a little since last week...but the hardest part was doing that mile (1600) wow long and long with a never end and most of the fight wasn't in my legs but in my head i wanted to keep going and I thought if I do 6 min will be happy because i don't feel like i gonna finish and when finally get to end and had a look to my watch..cool 5:45 relieve ..hahaha...or proud to finish in that sort of time because i just wanted to quit.
